Privacy notice
Kaju is a personal planning service operated as a private project. This notice explains how Kaju handles personal information when you use the service or connect a bank account.

Information Kaju handles
Kaju may handle:
- account and sign-in information used to secure the Kaju service;
- planning information entered in Base, Fuel, and Fund;
- bank connection metadata, including institution, account name, account type, currency, consent status, and consent expiry;
- booked bank transactions explicitly imported into Fund, including amount, direction, date, counterparty or payment text, category, and source provenance; and
- limited technical logs needed to operate and protect the service.
Kaju imports booked transactions only when you explicitly request it. It does not import pending entries, account balances, or payment-initiation data, and it does not run background bank synchronisation.
Why the information is used
Information is used only to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the personal Kaju service, including showing connected accounts and comparing imported spending with Fund plans. Kaju does not sell personal information or use bank information for advertising.
Service providers
Kaju uses Enable Banking to connect to supported banks with your authorisation. Enable Banking’s own terms and privacy notice apply during bank authorisation. Kaju uses Amazon Web Services to host the application, database, encrypted secrets, and operational logs.
Retention and deletion
Connection metadata is retained only while needed to provide and operate the connection. Disconnecting will attempt to close the remote banking session and will remove Kaju’s local access credentials. You may also revoke bank consent through your bank or Enable Banking and request deletion using the contact address above.
Imported transaction history is retained with its source label after a bank is unlinked or disconnected so that past Fund records remain coherent. You may request deletion of that retained history using the contact address above.
Security
Kaju restricts account access to the signed-in user, encrypts provider credentials at rest, uses HTTPS in transit, and keeps private application keys out of the browser and source code. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete personal information held by Kaju. You can disconnect a provider or withdraw bank consent at any time. Applicable data-protection rights may vary according to your circumstances and location.
